Foodie On Campus Road Trip: First Stop UMD

All you need to do is check out these pictures to see how amazingly successful our very stop on the road trip was. I had a blast, and the student volunteers were rocking it as they promoted the healthy snacks to attendees. We could not have held this event without our sponsors, Siggi’s and WeCook. In case you are not familiar with Siggi’s, their awesome high protein, low sugar yogurt is a perfect snack for college students. WeCook is a local Maryland company, started by a UMD student, and they provide personal chef services for those who don’t have time to cook.

I would also like to give a shoutout to all of our basic level sponsors who provided tastes and samples. Thanks to Kind, Crazy Richard’s Peanut Butter, Tiny but Mighty Popcorn, Peeled Snacks, California Almonds, California Dried Plums, Barney Butter, and kura, who provided the protein powder packets that we used to make our awesome smoothies.

The event could not have happened without the support and assistance provided by Dr. Margaret Udahogora and her dietetics students. A force to be reckoned with, they really rose to the occasion to make sure the event went off without a hitch! Go Terps!

Plans are in progress to bring this innovative and creative event to other campuses in the spring, and who knows, maybe we will hit your campus!
